Voter Information
Under new provincial legislation, all eligible voters who wish to vote in an Alberta Municipal Election must be listed on a Permanent Electors Register which will be maintained by each municipality. This process is new to Albertans, the Town of Grimshaw and its voters.
How Do I Register to Vote?
Voters need to register on Voterlink through Elections Alberta. Non-registered voters will be required to complete a registration form at a voting station prior to receiving a ballot. Note: On Voterlink you can register, check or update information. If you have recently moved or you had a name change, you need to update your information. Registering before September 15th for the Town of Grimshaw's Permanent Electors Register will ensure a smooth voting experience.
ID Requirements
There are two scenarios that will determine what ID you need in order to vote:
- Registered voters are required to show valid government issued identification containing, at minimum, the voters photograph and name.
- Non-Registered voters are required to validate their ID by providing one of the following:
- One piece of Government issued identification containing the voters photograph, name and current address; or
- One piece of identification containing the voters name and current address.
- Those unable to produce identification set out above may have a registered voter vouch for them. Please see our Voter FAQ to learn more about the vouching process.
