The Mile Zero Regional Multiplex offers something for everyone!  Get active and go for a walk, jog or run on the 175.3 metre elevated running track. Then stop in at the well- equipped weight room for a work out.  The spacious field house is perfect for special events like weddings, concerts and trade shows. From fall to spring, the ice surface in the arena is busy with hockey, figure skating and family skate time.  The sizable and comfortable bleacher area offers the perfect spot to cheer on your favourite skater!  Enjoy the summer sun and take a dip in the outdoor pool which is right next door to the multiplex. Drop in to the Visitor Information Centre conveniently located in the multiplex and plan your next adventure!  Hungry after all this activity?  Drop in to the onsite concession for some homemade goodness!

Open to Everyone! A busy municipal library that also provides services to the Grimshaw Public School and Holy Family Catholic School. The library is staffed with knowledgeable and caring professionals who offer access to materials from all over the province with a TRAC card, plus programming for all ages and interests.

The Grimshaw Municipal Library is located at 4609-50 Street in Grimshaw, attached to the Mile Zero Regional Multiplex.

For dog owners, finding a safe and spacious area where their pets can run free and socialize is often a challenge. The new Off-Lease Dog Park, which opened in the summer of 2024, offers a dedicated space where dogs can enjoy the freedom to play, exercise, and interact with other dogs without the constraints of a leash. This park is not just a recreational area; it is a haven that supports the physical and mental well-being of our canine companions.

Take the furry family members for some fun at the Grimshaw Dog Park located at 5202-57 Avenue, by the Mighty Peace Vet Clinic.

The Grimshaw Outdoor Swimming Pool was built in 1973. It operates from May long weekend to the third week of August each year. The Grimshaw Swimming Pool is busy all season, offering several swimming lessons and is home to the Grimshaw Gators Swim Club.The outdoor pool opens the May long weekend and is open for swimmers until about the 3rd week of August. This facility offers early bird, public and family swim times as well as Red Cross swim lessons.The Grimshaw outdoor pool is located at 4609 50th St. in Grimshaw. Coming Summer 2025! 

January 23, 2025 - The Town of Grimshaw is excited to announce a unique recreation offering coming to Grimshaw. By mid-summer 2025, residents and visitors will be able to enjoy a jumbo jumper jumping pillow. The permanently installed inflatable structure will be 35 by 58 feet in diameter and can hold up to 25 users at a time.

“If you have ever visited the County of Northern Sunrise’s bouncy pillow, then you will know what we are getting,” says Tracy Halerewich, Director of Community Services for the Town of Grimshaw. “It’s not just any play feature—it’s a huge, permanently installed bouncy pillow that offers a unique space for fun, active play and recreation. We’ve seen how much fun and engagement it's brought to their area and we are thrilled to bring a similar experience to Grimshaw.”

The Jumping Pillow will be installed in the grassy area on the north side of the outdoor skating rink, conveniently situated between the SK8 N Bike Park and the Grimshaw Outdoor Swimming Pool. This central location works perfectly and ensures easy access for all residents and visitors.

“This is such a great opportunity for our community and area to come together, stay active, and enjoy another fun new feature in Grimshaw,” says Mayor Wendy Wald. “We’ve got so much to offer in our great little community and we are excited to see families and visitors making memories here for years to come. Council extends gratitude to Tracy at Community Services and the Town of Grimshaw Community Services Advisory Board for their work in making this happen.”

The structure will remain inflated with the assistance of a small motor/fan during its operating hours. Clear rules will be posted on-site to ensure everyone’s safety and is important to note that the Jumping Pillow will not be supervised by staff, so children must always be accompanied by an adult.

The Town of Grimshaw maintains and operates the Mainway Outdoor Skating Rink each winter.  Once the weather is consistently -15 degrees, our staff will go out and prepare the ice surface for the public’s enjoyment during the winter season. Lace-up and enjoy the fresh outdoor air at the Outdoor Rink sponsored by Mainway Electrical. It is located beside the Mile Zero Regional Multiplex at 4609-50 Street.

The Grimshaw RV Dump Station is located at 5004-47th Avenue

Built in 2023, the Grimshaw Splash Park project is one of those kinds of amenities that inspire community pride, raise our town’s quality of life and increase our competitiveness when it comes to attracting and retaining new families to live here.

The recirculating Splash Park system operates from the end of May to mid-September each year. It is located on the south side of the gazebo between the Grimshaw Outdoor Swimming Pool and the Mile Zero Regional Multiplex. 

The Grimshaw Splash Park is designed as an interactive play-based learning pad.  This is an “inclusive” splash pad – meaning we are serving all members of the community, no matter their ability or age level.  Our Splash Park offers cognitive, social, physical and creative opportunities for all to enjoy.

Little ones will have hours of fun experiencing water features including the geysers, the split spurts, the misty twisty and many more exciting and interactive elements. A nearby gazebo offers a great place to enjoy a snack and relax in the shade.

Be sure to stop in at the Mile Zero Marker in Grimshaw and get a photo!  This monument which is part of the Tom Baldwin Memorial Arboretum and the Historic Mackenzie Highway Park, is easy to find, right off the main highway 2 going through the town of Grimshaw. The historic Northern Alberta Railway car beside the marker, offers another photo opportunity for visitors.  The monument marks mile zero of the Mackenzie Highway that will lead visitors north to Manning, High Level, Hay River, Yellowknife and beyond.
