Council Appoints Belinda Russell as Acting CAO

The Town of Grimshaw is pleased to announce the appointment of Belinda Russell as Acting Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), effective July 12, 2025.

Belinda’s appointment reflects her strong understanding of municipal government and her proven experience across a range of administrative roles. She has worked in front desk services, taxation, accounts payable, and payroll, and most recently as Municipal Secretary. In that role, she has worked closely alongside the CAO and Council, supporting legislative compliance, record-keeping, election processes, and policy development. The appointment was made official during the Town of Grimshaw Council meeting held on Wednesday.

“Council is confident in Belinda’s ability to support the organization through this transitional period,” said Mayor Wendy Wald. “She is a dedicated employee who brings strong organizational skills, a deep understanding of municipal operations, and a sincere commitment to serving our community.”

Belinda shared her appreciation for the opportunity to serve in this capacity.

"I am very passionate about the work we do as a municipal government and how we work together to support our community," said Russell. "Stepping into the Acting CAO position, I am truly looking forward to this opportunity to work collaboratively with our Council and staff.

Beyond her work at the Town, Belinda is actively involved in the community. She serves as Treasurer for both the Grimshaw Playschool and the Grimshaw Curling Club, Registrar for Grimshaw Minor Hockey, Secretary for the Grimshaw Regional Healthcare Attraction and Retention Committee, and a committee member for the Harvest Moon Festival.

“We’re grateful to Belinda for stepping up to take on this role,” added Mayor Wald. “She’s an exceptional employee, and we appreciate her support and leadership during this transition.”

The Town is currently undertaking a formal recruitment process to fill the permanent CAO position.
