RCMP Update
Staff Sergeant and Detachment Commander Lacey Blair joined the April 9, 2025 Council meeting to provide an update on policing in the Grimshaw area. She shared that property offences, motor vehicle thefts, and break-and-enters remain key areas of concern in Grimshaw and the surrounding region. Sergeant Blair emphasized how important it is for residents to report suspicious activity so the RCMP is informed in order to respond, track and file complaints effectively. While the Peace River detachment is currently fully staffed, she noted they continue to advocate for more members and additional resources to support the growing needs of the area. Sergeant Blair also spoke about ongoing community initiatives, including Coffee with a Cop, which gives residents the chance to connect with officers in a relaxed setting. She highlighted the meaningful work of Constable Sunday, who is focused on building strong connections with local youth through presentations, school visits, and partnerships with community groups. Council thanked Sergeant Blair and the RCMP for their presence, their commitment to public safety, and the relationships they continue to build within the community.
