Fitness Centre Attendant - Casual Position

The casual Fitness Centre Attendant positions will support the operations of the Les Shaw Fitness Centre, promote and provide information to the users of the facility and maintain a clean and safe environment for all users. All Fitness Centre Attendants will provide excellent customer service to all patrons and guests of the Les Shaw Fitness Centre at the Mile Zero Regional Multiplex.

Duties will include:

• Opens and/or closes the Les Shaw Fitness Centre as per posted operating hours, cleans equipment, and returns equipment to designated areas.
• Assists with facility and equipment maintenance by advising their supervisor of any machines and/or equipment that requires service.
• Responsible for ensuring the day-to-day cleaning checklist is completed. This will include mopping around the equipment, dusting, and other duties as required. 
• Monitors the safe and effective use of the Les Shaw Fitness Centre and Northern Air Walking Track.
• Provides exceptional customer service both on the phone and in person. 
• Uses technology and software systems to facilitate service and operations in the centre including spin class, drop ins, and membership sales/tracking etc. 
• Enforces the rules and regulations of the Les Shaw Fitness Centre and the overall multiplex.
  

Required Qualifications

• Applicants must be 16 years of age or older. This role is well suited for students, retirees, or individuals interested in community-oriented work.
• Must be willing to work various evening and weekend shifts
• Be a team player able to multi-task and work independently with little supervision
• Standard First Aid/CPR level C is an asset
• Moderate computer skills
