Dave Allen, President of the Alberta Pond Hockey
Association, presented Council with information on the upcoming 2026 Pond
Hockey Championships, which will be taking place from March 6th to 8th.
Council appointed Veronica Rafuse as the member at large for
the Town of Grimshaw Community Services Advisory Board.
Council approved sending letters of support for several
community initiatives, including the Grimshaw History Book Association,
recognizing the important work they do to preserve and share our community’s
history. Letters of support were also approved for the Peace River School
Division as they continue to explore Collegiate Programming, for Alberta
Sheriffs’ representation in the Real Time Operations Centre (RTOC), and for the
Jumpstart Community Champion Award nomination of Dianne Wearden in recognition
of her dedication as the Alleycats Skipping Coach.
Council approved attendance for any interested members of
Council to take part in the Rotary House Open House in Peace River on February
4, 2026, as well as for the Harvest Moon Open House at Kennedy Gym, February
10, 2026, and for the meeting with Minister Dan Williams on February 11, 2026.
