Call for Members at Large – Peace Regional SDAB
Are you interested in contributing to your local community and the Peace Region by helping adjudicate planning and development appeals in a fair and impartial manner?
The Peace Regional Subdivision and Development Appeal Board (PRSDAB) is seeking individuals to serve as Members at Large. Members are appointed for a three-year (renewable) term, and help hear subdivision and development appeals from participating municipalities.
We are looking for individuals who are:
- Fair-minded, objective and impartial;
- Interested in community and regional land use planning matters;
- Able to review information, consider different perspectives and make informed decisions;
- Available to participate in appeal hearings when required; and
- Willing to complete the required training, with the cost paid by the member municipality.
Previous experience in municipal government, planning, development, or a related field is an asset, but not required.
As a member of the Board, you will:
- Hear subdivision and development appeals and consider evidence presented by the parties;
- Gain experience in municipal planning and quasi-judicial decision-making; and
- Receive remuneration for attending appeal hearings in accordance with the PRSDAB’s approved remuneration schedule.
