Position Objectives:

Seasonal Arena Attendants - Mile Zero Regional Multiplex

The Town of Grimshaw is hiring seasonal Arena Attendants for the Mile Zero Regional Multiplex for the 2025/2026 season, with positions starting August 11, 2025. The Arena Attendant involves a high degree of customer interaction, strong organizational skills and ability to work independently to meet the operational needs in our arena. The full job description and application information are posted below.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide quality customer service to a wide variety of arena users
  • Maintain and ensure safe work practices must be observed for all tasks
  • Monitor ice surface and dressing room bookings to ensure clients with reserved ice time adhere to the confirmed times
  • Be aware and implement all facility rules, regulations and policies
  • Monitor ice plant and write down plant readings in log book
  • Operate Zamboni to provide floods for facility user groups
  • Adhere to dress code

 Custodial Duties: 

  • Work in conjunction with facility Custodian to ensure the Multiplex facility is maintained in a healthy, safe and sanitary manner
  • Wash entrance and exit floor areas
  • Wash and disinfect all washroom floors, toilets, toilet seats, hand dryers and fixtures, clean all mirrors
  • Clean all temp glass around ice surface board system, viewing windows inside and outside of concession area within the building
  • Replenish toilet paper, hand towel and soap dispensers with product in all washroom and dressing rooms
  • Empty all garbage cans
  • Clean front entrance and all exits including glass, doors and hardware
  • Place all collected garbage in outside garbage bin
  • Assist with keeping outside entrance and all exits clear of snow and debris
  • Report damages and acts of vandalism
  • Maintain daily shift records on facility usage, duties completed on shift, maintenance schedules, etc.
  • Spot clean walls 
  • Problem solve
  • Maintain the Zamboni, Mechanical and Janitorial rooms, all facility equipment and supplies in a safe and orderly manner
  • Make note of the need for equipment or building repairs
  • Perform other duties assigned by supervisor
  • Attend training sessions and monthly meetings
  • Maintain positive relations with all other Multiplex staff
  • Maintain a secure building
  • Provide first aid in emergency situations
  • May be required to work special events outside of regular scheduled operating hours
