Police Funding Model Invoice

Council reviewed an invoice from the Alberta Government for the town’s share for policing services under the Police Funding Model Regulation. The Town of Grimshaw’s required contribution for 2025 is $129,916.00, which is calculated based on factors such as population, assessment values, and crime severity.

Education Property Tax

Council reviewed correspondence from Municipal Affairs Minister Ric McIver that provides information regarding the Alberta Government's increase to the education property tax requisition. The Government of Alberta has increased the education property tax requisition by 14% province-wide to support the provincial education system. For Grimshaw, this means an increase of 3%, which is reflected on residents’ tax bills.
