Council Meeting Highlights - September 30, 2026

Here are the highlights from the September 30 Council Meeting:

• Director of Finance, Larissa Hempler, presented the financial report to Council.
• Council approved the proposed Christmas and New Year's holiday operating hours for the Mile Zero Regional Multiplex as presented by Administration. The multiplex will be closed December 24, 25, 26, 31, and January 1.
• Council authorized Deputy Mayor Sklapsky and Councillor Allen to attend the Regional Economic Development Committee Proposal Meeting on October 16, 2026, in the Town of Peace River.
• Councillor Thompson and Mayor Messner will attend ACCPA's First One-Day Forum in Peace River on October 28, 2026.
• Council gave First Reading to Land Use Bylaw Amendment No. 1220 and directed Administration to proceed with the required statutory notification process for the public hearing.
• Council approved the replacement of the water heater for the Zamboni room.
