Official Nomination Day Results - Council Filled by Acclamation

September 23, 2025 - The Town of Grimshaw’s Returning Officer has declared that all Council positions have been filled by acclamation. As the number of candidates equalled the number of vacancies, no municipal election will be held in the Town of Grimshaw for the upcoming term in accordance with Alberta’s Local Authorities Election Act.

Acclaimed members of the Town of Grimshaw Council for a four-year term beginning October 20, 2025, are as follows:

Mayor

  • Stacey Messner

Councillors

  • Tanya Allen

  • John Bak

  • Lynn Florence

  • Chad Krantz

  • Colleen Sklapsky

  • Dirk Thompson

“We have new and returning Council members and are grateful to the residents who put their name forward to serve our community,” says Acting CAO Belinda Russell. “We also extend our sincere thanks to the current Council for their service and dedication to the Town of Grimshaw.”

The new Council will be sworn in at the Organizational Meeting, with the date to be determined at the Regular Council Meeting, which is being held tomorrow, September 24, 2025.
