Position Objectives:
The Town of Grimshaw is accepting applications for (1) permanent, part-time position for Bylaw Enforcement Officer and Animal Control within the Town of Grimshaw.Position: Bylaw Enforcement Officer & Animal Control Location: Town of Grimshaw
Reporting to: Chief Administrative Officer
As a Bylaw Enforcement Officer and Animal Control Officer for the Town of Grimshaw, the primary role is to ensure the safety and well-being of the community by enforcing municipal bylaws. This involves a wide range of duties, from handling animal control matters to actively patrolling and responding to complaints regarding community standards, such as snow removal, garbage disposal, and land use regulation.
The officer is responsible for issuing warnings, notices, and tickets as necessary, while also working to promote compliance and public awareness. Key to the position is maintaining accurate records and reports, assisting with legal prosecutions, and collaborating with Town staff, community groups, and residents to uphold the integrity of the town's regulations.
The Bylaw Enforcement Officer must possess the following:
• 2+ years of law enforcement or animal control experience
• Strong public relations & communication skills
• Ability to interpret and enforce bylaws
• Computer skills (Microsoft Office)
• Professional, tactful, and diplomatic approach
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Comfortable working with animals
A current driver’s license, and criminal record check will be required.
