The Town of Grimshaw is accepting applications for (1) permanent, full-time position for Communications and Systems Administrator within the Administration Department.
Position: Communications and Systems Administrator
Location: Town of Grimshaw
Reporting to: Municipal Secretary
This role is responsible for the town’s social media platforms, website administration, support of telecommunications, security system, and audio-visual systems. This includes cloud-based and on-premise voice systems (VoIP), mobile device management, CCTV surveillance, and AV equipment across all municipal facilities. The successful candidate will collaborate with all departments on upcoming events, programming, and projects. This role will be the main point of contact with any external vendors to ensure secure, reliable, and efficient operation of communication, media and security technologies. The role involves hands-on technical work, systems design, documentation, vendor coordination, and end-user support.
The Communications and Systems Administrator must possess the following:
- Experience in communications, public relations, or marketing role.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms and digital content creation.
- Proficiency in website content management systems (CMS).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders.
- Experience with graphic design software (e.g., Canva) is a plus.
- Knowledge of municipal government and local community issues is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure and protocols (e.g. VoIP)
- Experience with Cisco, Microsoft Teams Calling, Zoom, or similar platforms
- Familiarity with CCTV systems
- Understanding of access control systems, including credential management and scheduling
- Competency in managing audio-visual technologies for public and hybrid events
- Excellent troubleshooting and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently, communicate effectively, and collaborate across departments
A current driver’s license, and criminal record check will be required
