Council Meeting Highlights - June 10, 2026

Here are the highlights from the June 10 Council Meeting:

• Department reports: Director of Finance, Larissa Hempler, presented the Town’s financials. Communications Administrator, Dani Wearden, presented a report for the quarterly Communications statistics.
• The GPS Fundraising Society met with Council to provide more information about the funding request form they submitted regarding a new Inclusive playground for the Shared Facility playground. Council moved the GPS Fundraising Society donation request to budget discussions.
• Council reviewed the 3^rd Quarter Funding Requests and approved a $1,000 donation to the Grimshaw Gators Swim Club.
• Council approved the disposition of the identified records by Administration in accordance with the Town of Grimshaw Records Management Policy.
• Council passed the first and second reading of Bylaw No. 1219 Emergency Management Bylaw. Third reading and passing will be completed at the following council meeting.
• Council approved the Emergency Management Plan for the Town of Grimshaw with amendments.
• Council approved the Privacy Management Program as presented and directed Administration to implement the Privacy Management Program.
• Council denied the Request for Extension on Permit # 26-14 - Removal of Fence.
• Council accepted the invitation from Grimshaw Public School to attend the Celebration of Learning and award ceremony and Mayor Messner will attend on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the Multiplex Field House. Mayor Messner will also attend the Grimshaw Public School graduation ceremony on June 26, 2026 at 1:00 p.m.
